Game Recap

Piece of Cake

Seniors Alex Foote, Will Allen, Jack Stone, Jake Howe, Cameron Gray, Josh Stone, JP Middleton, Bradley Dean, Sam Kelly, Ben Stinebruner, Seth Junion, Mason Smith and Noah Forrest were the main ingredients in last night’s contest between Model High School and the North Oldham Mustangs. The Patriots were curiously overcome by the slings of outrageous fortune as Cameron the Gray scored the first goal early in the game.

Model tied the game 1-1 with a goal from their leading scorer. But he would not be heard from again in this game. Jack ‘No Rolling’ Stone got the next goal for North bringing the score to 2-1. After a little underclassmen relief, Mason Rice built something that would stick, and he scored one more and ended the half. The halftime was a recognition of seniors and their parents, arranged for and coordinated by junior parent, Linda DeGruccio.

Second half action brought much more in defense including one spectacular save by Seth Junion. He had six in all. The Patriots were unsuccessful in any further attempts at the net and North won 3-1. The game was followed by a touching tribute by the boys to their most influential educators. Special guests included teachers, relatives and coaches who profoundly affected the players’ lives.

The Varsity team plays OC at OC on Monday night at 8:00pm in the first match of district play. Come out to support your Mustangs. Go North!
