The North Oldham boys lacrosse team won a thrilling over time game in the District Tournament opener on Monday evening against Oldham County. The Mustangs jumped out to a strong 7-1 lead controlling most of the first two quarters ending the half up 7-4. OC came out firing in the third quarter gaining momentum and then knotting it up at 9 all with 3:47 in the third, and finishing the frame up 11-9. It was in the final 4 minutes of the fourth quarter that the Mustangs came alive. Sam Carmack scored his second, third, and fourth goals of the game tying it up 13-13 with seconds left in the game. In overtime the Mustangs retained the face off, and quickly passed it around where Parker Waits found the back of the net for the game winner. NOHS 14- OC 13.
The Mustangs now advance to the District finals Wednesday night at 6:00 PM where they face South Oldham at South Oldham for the District title.
