Boys Junior Varsity Golf, Boys Varsity Golf · Boys Golf Places 4th at Regionals, Mason Lenhart on to State

The Mustang tourney squad competed yesterday in the Region VI Championship tourney at Midland Trail Golf Club. The North golfers posted a score of 307[+19] which placed them in a tie score with the golfers from Trinity HS for 4th place in the tourney. Junior Mason Lenhart paced the scoring for North by recording a round of 70[-2] that placed him as the 2nd Medalist in the tourney and earned him a qualifier spot in the State tourney next week in Bowling Green.
Senior Scotty Lewis was next for the Mustangs, recording a score of 76[+4]. Scotty had a really good day on the course – playing 17 holes in only one over par except for trouble at the 16th hole. Scotty responded very well though and finished his round with two pars!
Junior Zach Whiteman recorded a round of 80[+8]. Zach attacked the Midland Trail course in the early going, making the turn at level par, but ran into trouble late in his round on Hole 15 and Hole 17 that lead to his final result.
Senior Jameson Kercell posted a score of 81[+9]. Jameson ran into OB trouble on Hole 11 that lead to a big number on the scorecard, but to his credit he bounced back strongly and was able to finish all of his remaining holes at level par.
Junior Drew Bailey was the final score for the Mustangs. posting a score of 82[+10]. Drew joined his fellow Mustangs in the struggle across the closing 9 holes – and was unable to make up any strokes in the closing holes.
This brings this year’s team campaign to an end.  Coach Dunn and Coach Croom are very proud of the team’s efforts this year – and very encouraged that this year’s experiences will lead to even greater achievements in the future.
Congrats to Mason on his berth in the State tourney next week
