The North Oldham boys lacrosse team won a tightly-contested battle with Male HS last Friday night. Facing a team with two of the top offensive players in the state, the Mustangs defense gave up a season-low 4 goals. Senior goalie Luke Garas made 14 saves, including several spectacular ones late in the fourth quarter. Junior defender Ben Magnus held Male’s 2017 All-State Attackmen to zero goals for the game.
The Mustang offense, led by senior attackman Gavin Beauregard’s 4 points (3 goals, 1 assist), controlled the pace of play throughout the game and put Male away for good in the fourth quarter. With the game tied at 3 late in the third quarter, Nick Walz broke through Male’s defense on route to his first career varsity goal. Gavin Beauregard scored the eventual game winner a few minutes later, then sealed the game with an assist to junior midfielder Jackson Anderson. Senior midfielder Seth Wilson dominated the face-off x once again, finished 11/13 on the night.
The boys lacrosse team hosts undefeated Eastern High School this Wednesday night at 6pm.
