Mustangs News · Girls Golf Competed at Regionals

By Madison Thompson

On Thursday, September 27th, five girls from our Mustang Golf team woke up before dawn and layered up for the KHSAA Region 5 Tournament at Nevel Meade. Emily Mitchell, Lauren Jones, Hallie Grace Withrow, Addie Morgan, and Isabel Shingleton spent hours out at the golf course. The hardest part of playing golf is “keeping your focus and keeping your stress levels down,” says Emily Mitchell. Golfers know how hard this can be when you have spectators, golf carts, and fellow golfers around the course as well. But the stress is worth it.  Lauren Jones says the best part is “meeting new people from schools and making friends across Oldham County.”

When asked what most surprised them about golf, Emily Mitchell told said golf is surprisingly more difficult that one would think. Lauren Jones talked about the inconsistencies in playing. That scores from one day could be completely different than the next. Overall, we all need to congratulate our girls golf team in a strong tournament and their dedication to golf.
