The Pegasus Sports Network (“PSN”) has announced its internet basketball broadcast schedule for 2018-19.
As always, PSN will feature a variety of boys’ and girls’ basketball games from all three Oldham high schools. All games will be broadcast via live video over the internet, and will also be archived on the PSN website for one year after the game. To watch, go to www.pegasussportsky.com, click on any of the school logos, then click on the triangular “play” button on the “TV Screen” when it appears. All games will be preceded by a half-hour pregame show.
All broadcasts are free in standard definition; the streaming company used by Pegasus charges $4.95 per broadcast if you choose the high definition video.
“Pegasus has been the voice of high school sports in the county since 1979,” said Chief Announcer Mike Montgomery, who founded the volunteer organization as a junior in high school in 1979. “For 39 years, we’ve been the voice of the Colonels, but we were also on hand at the first football game for South Oldham in 1989, and became the Voice of the North Oldham Mustangs when that school opened in 2003.”
Montgomery, a 1980 graduate of Oldham County High School, on the headsets this season will be former Oldham County boys’ basketball coach Jason Holland, former South Oldham girls’ coach Frank Wright, former Oldham County HS assistant football coach Tom Hawkins, along with college student interns Stephen Hall and Kevin Montgomery. Shaun Montgomery will be the chief cameraman.
As the season progresses, Pegasus will pick up high school students who are interested in learning broadcasting skills, whether on camera or behind it.
