The North Oldham boys’ basketball team traveled to Simon Kenton High School for a first round tournament game against the Russell Red Devils and dominated from start to finish to win 83-55. The Mustangs were able to play all 14 varsity players with the reserves playing the entire 4th period. North Oldham evens their record at 5-5 on the season and are back in action Friday night versus the host tournament team, Simon Kenton.
North Oldham led at the half 38-25 and had balanced scoring with Grant Adelson and Dallas Roberts leading the way with 7 points each. In addition, Mitchell Cox and Luke Barry both scored 6 points at the break.
Today’s game featured some very nice all-around performances by several Mustang players. Luke Barry led the team in scoring with 17 points on 5/7 from 3-point range and he also had 3 steals. Dallas Roberts scored 12 points on 9/10 free throws and dished out 5 assists. Grant Adelson had 9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Tyler Higdon had 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and one THUNDEROUS dunk off an outlet pass from Adelson. Thomas Ashton continued to shoot the ball well scoring 9 points on 3/4 shooting from the field and 2/3 from the charity stripe. Others scoring for the Mustangs were Mitchell Cox 8; Will Hare 6; Will Yochum 4; Grant Bastyr 3; Chis Power 3; Jack Scales 2; and Ian Higdon 1.
