The North Oldham boys’ basketball team played the Jeffersontown Chargers in the first round of a tournament held at South Oldham High School on Thursday evening and won 67-54. The Mustangs played well tonight limiting their turnovers to eight against JTown’s full court press and physical play. The Mustangs also helped themselves by getting to the charity stripe 35 times, making 22 free throws.
The first half was controlled by the Mustangs through about the middle of the second quarter and then JTown made a nice run to tie the score 27-27 at the intermission. North Oldham was led in scoring in the first half by Dallas Roberts with 9 points and Tyler Higdon with 8 points.
The second half was back and forth until late in the 3rd quarter when North Oldham started to pull away and maintained their lead throughout the 4th quarter. The Mustangs are now 6-7 on the season and play host, South Oldham, at 8:00 pm on Friday evening.
Dallas Roberts led 4 Mustangs in double figures with 20 points. Tyler Higdon had 19 points and 9 rebounds. Luke Barry had 14 points on 4/5 fgs and Grant Adelson had 10 points on 2/3 fgs.
