The North Oldham boys’ basketball team played a home game vs Owen County on Tuesday evening and led wire to wire to win going away by the score of 67-38. The Mustangs are now 11-15 on the season and back in action on Friday evening at Meade County.
The Mustangs moved the ball well throughout the first half and led 31-14 at the break. Tyler Higdon (13 points) and Thomas Ashton (7 points) led the way and the team totaled 10 first half assists. The second half was much of the same with the Mustangs shooting well from 3-point land, as well as forcing Owen County turnovers to turn a 10-point difference late in the 3rd quarter into the 29 point margin at the end of the game.
North Oldham had three in double figures led by Tyler Higdon with 17 points on 8/11 fgs. Tyler also had 6 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Thomas Ashton had a great game starting in place Grant Adelson, now out for the season with a foot injury. Thomas finished with 16 points on 5/9 fgs (3/4 3 pters). Thomas also had 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Will Hare added 14 points on 4/5 fgs, including 4/4 from 3-point land. Will added 2 assists and 2 steals.
