The NOHS boys lacrosse team traveled to Christian Academy of Louisville Wednesday evening for their third game of the season. The Mustang seniors were especially hungry for a win having never beaten the Centurions. North Oldham fell behind 0-1 and 2-3 early in the contest, but took a 3-2 lead before conceding late in the 2nd quarter. A nervous excitement ran through the crowd as the game went to intermission tied at three. The visitors came out hot to start the third quarter and built a 7-3 lead with four unanswered goals. Senior goalie Parker Congleton did his part and amazed the fans with several acrobatic stops of point-blank shots. CAL fought back gamely in the fourth quarter with a high pressure strategy and closed to within one goal with one minute remaining. Protecting an 8-7 lead, the Mustang defense stood strong for the last frantic seconds to pull out the win. Congleton finished the game with 16 saves. Sophomore attackman Will Yochum had a break-out performance and led the team with 3 goals on the night. Senior Jackson Anderson had 2, while Senior Chase Hill, Senior Spencer Hinnen and Junior Ethan Gay each had 1.
