The North Oldham Mustangs boys track and field team competed in the State Track meet held in Lexington on Friday, and finished up on Saturday due to lightning and storms. They finished 3rd in the state scoring 53 points. The Mustangs started the meet with the 4 x 800 relay team of Joseph Boyd, Jackson Kuhn, Carson Sharber, and Mason Clements taking the baton and racing home to a first place finish as State Champions.
Finishing 2nd in both the 100 and 200 meter was Connor Newhouse running a 10.81 and 21.84.
The 4 x 200 relay team of Jackson Felts, Alex Hope, Dan Walter, and Blake Wetzel placed 4th.
Placing 5th and 6th in the 1600 meters was Joseph Boyd and Jake Pyles.
Mason Clements placed 2nd in the 800 meters running 1:58.21.
Isaiah Terry pole vaulted 11’0 placing 8th.
Saturday morning , coming back to run was the 4 x 400 relay team of Mason Clements, Jackson Kuhn, Skylar Taylor and Logan Boone placing 3rd. Jackson and Logan then sprinted to Freedom Hall where they made it in time to walk at graduation!
