Girls Varsity Field Hockey · North Field Hockey Suffer First Loss to Christian Academy of Louisville

The North Oldham field hockey team experienced their first loss of the season on Monday night, losing a heartbreaker 4-3 to Christian Academy.  Christian Academy led at the end of the first half, 1-0.  Shortly after the start of the second half, Hadley Kuzmicky carried the ball into the circle taking an amazing reverse chip shot around a defender and the goalie, sending the ball into the upper corner of the goal to tie the game 1-1.  Unfortunately CAL retaliated quickly, and scored two quick goals to go up 3-1.  A short time later the the Centurions scored again, to increase the lead to 4-1.  Hadley Kuzmicky scored two more goal for the Mustangs, closing the gap to 4-3 with 6 minutes left remaining in the game.  Unfortunately, the Mustangs ran out of time, and couldn’t not sneak another one into the goal, losing 4-3.  North Oldham still maintains the best record in the state with a 15-1 record.  The team takes on Seneca at home on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
