The North Oldham field hockey team beat Holy Cross 10-0 on Thursday night. Maggie Battcher, Payton Hobson, Riley Owens, Cassidy Ross, and junior Olivia FitzSimmons (who is graduating early), all celebrated senior night. The Mustangs came out strong with Payton Hobson scoring in the first 15 seconds of the game. Hobson led the Mustangs with three goals. Olivia FitzSimmons, Hadley Kuzmicky, Eme Schmittel and Alexa Shearer all scored as well.
To honor their season, the seniors wanted to make a difference and leave a legacy of paying it forward. They have not only donated new field hockey tents to the program, they also led a fundraiser as part of their “Teal We Find a Cure” campaign to raise money for the St. Elizabeth Cancer Center located in Northern Kentucky. The center will be the largest comprehensive cancer center in our region.
With their win the team improves to 18-1 on the season. They have their last game of the regular season on Thursday, October 17th at home against St. Francis. Come out and support your Mustangs!
