Webster County Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory
North Oldham Lady Mustangs Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 2-0 loss to Webster County on Thursday. Webster County scored on a triple by Grace Scott and a single by Kayla Yates in the first inning.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Webster County pitchers struck out 11, while North Oldham Lady Mustangs Varsity sat down 11.
One bright spot for North Oldham Lady Mustangs Varsity was a single by Haley Block in the fourth inning.
Scott earned the win for Webster County. She lasted six innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out 11 and walking one.
Madisyn Eads took the loss for North Oldham Lady Mustangs Varsity. She allowed nine hits and two runs over six innings, striking out 11.
Block led North Oldham Lady Mustangs Varsity with two hits in three at bats. North Oldham Lady Mustangs Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brooke Chick had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team.
